Today Mayor Bloomberg and Borough President Marty Markowitz joined Steve Hindy at the Brooklyn Brewery to cut the ribbon on its new, $8M expansion in Williamsburg. The expansion increases production at the brewery tenfold, from 12,000 barrels per year to 120,000 barrels. There will also now be more opportunities to tour the brewery.
Check out some sweet photos of the expansion from the ribbon cutting on Gothamist.
I’m ashamed to say we haven’t yet made it to tour the Brooklyn Brewery since moving to NYC. We had a good enough reason when we lived far away in the Bronx (I guess), but since moving to Brooklyn, we really have no excuse.
We have a couple of Black Chocolate Stouts in the aging cabinet. I think I hear them calling my name…
