We frequent many fantastic bars and beer stores around New York City, so we thought we’d impart some of our knowledge onto you, by starting a series of posts called “Why we love…” As the name implies, we’ll tell you about a place we love and why we love it. Sound good? Thought so.
The atmosphere at Pacific Standard (Park Slope) is a great example of the kind often associated with craft beer: relaxed, funky, passionate, and at times rough around the edges. The booths in front are roomy, and the back room has bookcases filled with books and a sweet map on the wall. A perfect environment for the frequent summer poetry and fiction readings (we plan to attend). The beer selection is focused on the West Coast – as the name implies – and includes a decent amount of local brews. On any given night you might find several beers from Lagunitas Brewing Company in California next to several from Brooklyn’s own Sixpoint Brewery.
