Since forever, basically, we’ve operated under the notion that beer in bottles trumps beer in cans. Perhaps because of the quality of beer that used to come in cans, you know, when we drank “beer” (read: watery beer-like substance) in college. So imagine our shock when we sat down to enjoy a couple bottles of Brooklyn Summer Ale the other day and the brew was not how we remembered it tasting just a couple of weeks before from the can.
The canned Brooklyn Summer was crisp and fresh. Exactly what we wanted at exactly that moment. The bottled Summer was… off. Not as fresh, with an slightly unpleasant, sweet aftertaste. Maybe what we had was from a funky batch. But if you have the option this season, we recommend choosing the can.
