Tomorrow kicks off New York Craft Beer Week, one of our favorite weeks of the year (it is dependably awesome). We experienced each of the previous three craft beer weeks and have come to love it as a great way to usher in the fall season with some exciting beer events. This year we are trying to maximize the fun both by using our passports for deals and attending events. We will be keeping you posted throughout the week but here’s our plan for opening weekend:
Freaktoberfest: It’s high on the list for most people attending beer week and it’s easy to see why. The list of participating breweries is impressive and features some of our favorites: Barrier, Founders, Two Brothers, and Allagash among others. We are also interested to see performances that will include the likes of Danny Vomit (we aren’t sure about the origin of the name but it has our attention).
Friday, September 16, 7 p.m. at Southpaw. Tickets are available at Ticket Web for $50.
Crabtacular Oktoberfeast: Saturday we thought we would stay in our neighborhood at Franklin Park, where they will be serving up crabs cooked in Brooklyn Brewery Oktoberfest Beer by the half dozen. The crabs will be served along with pitchers of the beer.
Crabs will be 6 for $10 or 12 for $18. Pitchers of Brooklyn Oktoberfest will be $18.
