Many homebrewers love to clone some of their favorite beers. You can even find clone kits at many brewshops and homebrewing websites. Bitter and Esters, the recently opened brewshop in Prospect Heights, is looking to help homebrewers hit their target flavors by hosting a new “Brew Like a Pro” series. Starting Saturday October 29, homebrewers will be able to participate in the brewing of a clone on the brewing equipment at Bitter and Esters. The shop will be featuring recipes, ingredients, and techniques from the breweries. Each session will have either a brewer or representative from the featured brewery on hand to lead the brewing, answer questions, and provide samples.
Victory Brewing’s popular Prima Pils will be the first beer cloned in the series. Everyone who attends will receive a voucher to taste the production beer alongside the clone at tasting events hosted at Washington Commons, Barcade, and Rattle N Hum. If you can’t make the brewing sessions you can still get to compare the beers at the events.
