October 13th from 4 to 11 p.m. the Hudson Hop & Harvest Festival will be held outside Peekskill Brewery’s new location. Harvest festivals this time of year tend to follow classic Oktoberfest themes of German beer, sausage, and music, so we are happy to see one that is a collaboration between local breweries and farms. Regional breweries, homebrewers, and Hudson Valley breweries like Captain Lawrence, Peekskill, Defiant, Keegan, and Newburgh will pour their harvest ales, octoberfests and pumpkin ales alongside fare from restaurants like Birdsall House that will collaborate with local farms. The location right next to the Hudson River should be beautiful this time of year. Unlike many suburban festivals a car will not be necessary to attend, the brewery is located right next to the Peekskill Metro-North Station, about an hour train ride along the river from Grand Central. The event is pay as you go.
