Bronx Brewery Summer Pale Ale

The Bronx Brewery Summer Pale Ale, the brewery’s fourth and final seasonal, will be released on June 10. Brewer Damian Brown, who has shown a remarkable focus on the different variations of the Pale Ale, brewed this beer with British and American two row malt, an experimental hop variety, and lemon peel. In its press release, the brewery described the beer as “balanced and refreshing” with a “subtle and crisp citrus note.” The beer joins the seasonal line up of the Rye Pale Ale (fall), Black Pale Ale (winter), and Belgian Pale Ale (spring). Growing Hops

This is our hop plant. We have named her Eleanor.  Wednesday evening the Brooklyn Brewery hosted a discussion on hops growing, featuring Jaclyn Van Bourgondien and Andrew Tralka, a husband and wife team who launched Farm to Pint in 2012, a hops farm in Peconic, Long Island. In the late 1800s, 80 percent of all hops in the US were grown in New York State.
