The New York State Beer and Food Expo

The first annual NY State Beer and Food Expo, will take place on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at East River Park in Williamsburg. Produced by Jimmy Carbone of Jimmy’s No. 43, the Good Beer Seal and Beer Sessions Radio, the expo will feature beers and farm-to-table foods sourced from regional farms. NYC Craft Beer Festival Highlights

When you hear live jazz music, it’s hard to resist moving your shoulders, bouncing your head and tapping your feet to the music. Such was the scene at Saturday’s NYC Craft Beer Festival: Summer Jazz edition, which took place at Webster Hall in Manhattan. It was the latest in a series of events produced by the Hand Crafted Tasting Company, a division of Mad Dog Events. NYC Craft Beer Fest: Summer Jazz

Saturday July 20, the summer edition of the NYC Craft Beer Festival moves into Webster Hall with Jazz performances and a beer list curated by the team here at BeerUnion. The indoor festival is a welcome break from outdoor summer festivals that risk blistering heat that makes dehydration a real problem (especially given the recent heat wave). Victory Brewing Tasting at Malt and Mold

Saturday July 13, Malt and Mold in the Lower East Side will host a free tasting of beers from Victory Brewing of Downington Pennsylvania. The tasting will feature some hoppy beers with Hop Devil IPA and Ranch Double IPA as well as the easy drinking Summer of Love Ale. Peekskill Night at Alewife

On Thursday, July 11, Alewife in Long Island City Queens will host a Peekskill Brewery night, featuring some awesome beers from the brewery just up the Hudson. Brewer Jeff “Chief” O’Neill will be on hand, and Alewife will offer food pairings for the beers. Shmaltz Brewing Company’s New Brewery

Long proponents of contract brewing, and having done so for 16 years, Shmaltz Brewing Company has opened its own brewery  The new facility, located in Clifton Park near Albany, will have its grand opening to the public on Sunday July 7 with not only a full line up of their own beers but also beers from around the area with Brown’s Brewing, Peekskill Brewing, Druthers Brewing and more. July Good Beer Month in NYC

For the fifth year in a row July in NYC is proclaimed – by the mayor, no less – Good Beer Month. Good Beer Month celebrates fine craft beer in the city with events, specials and the Craft Beer Passport.
