This Saturday, October 19, starting at 1 p.m., Cider Week NY kicks off at Jimmy’s No. 43 with a Harvest Beer & Cider Sessions event. Though mostly focused on ciders, beer brewers will be in attendance. Rich Castagna, founder and brewer of Bridge and Tunnel Brewery, will hold a beer seminar at 3 p.m.. U.S.-based “farmstead” ciders like Original Sin and Clifton Dry will be poured alongside fresh-hopped and seasonal brews.
A limited number of tickets, which cost $50, are available here. A handful of northeast regional ciders will be available at this event, which is a walk-around tasting:
Harvest Moon Cidery/Critz farms (Four Screw)
Steampunkt (Oakes Winery)
Aaron Burr with Andrew Brennan
Eden (Ice Ciders)
Ciders from Spain, French and the U.K. will also be on hand.
Other special presentations include one from Steve Wood of Farnum Hill Cider at 4 p.m. and Greg Hall of Virtue Cider at 6 p.m.
