Queens Beer Week rolls on this weekend with lots of events, but we’re looking at one in particular. Joanna Carpenter from Braving the Brew will cohost a homebrewing class with Rich Castagna of Bridge and Tunnel Brewery from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 at Astoria Beer and Brew. The class will take attendees through the basics of brewing. Castagna, a native of Queens who founded Bridge and Tunnel in his garage, made the jump from homebrewing to professional brewing in 2012. Bridge and Tunnel is among the city’s smallest brewers, producing hard-to-find brews like the Angry Amel Dunkelweizen and the Tiger Eyes Hazelnut Brown Ale. The $25 tickets includes the class, a tasting, and a 10% discount on homebrewing kits from Astoria Beer and Brew.
