“There is a vibrant market for craft beer in Brooklyn and we wanted to be a part of Coney Island’s comeback from the extensive damage the area suffered during Hurricane Sandy,” says A.J. Bodden, Managing Director of Townsquare Lifestyle Events. On July 12, Townsquare will hold its inaugural New York City event, Coney Island On Tap.
The event will take place at MCU Park, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones, just steps from the Coney Island boardwalk and beach.
Attendees will have the opportunity to taste over 100 beers from more than 60 American craft breweries. Just some of the New York breweries that will be pouring are: Blue Point, Butternuts, Bronx Brewery, Sixpoint, Three Heads, Southern Tier, Peekskill, Saranac, Keegan, Captain Lawrence, Alphabet City, Docs, Coney Island, Empire, Fire Island, Kelso, Lake Placid, Schmaltz, Southampton, Steadfast and Radiant Pig.
There will also be live music, vendors and food available for purchase.
The festival will take place in two sessions, from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 12. General admission tickets are available for $40 in advance, or $50 at the door. Those who purchase these tickets will receive a souvenir tasting glass. VIP Rooftop Deck Admission tickets are also available for $75, in advance only. In addition to the tasting glass, VIP holders will have access to the private rooftop deck at MCU Park, the chance to sample exclusive beers, a meet and greet with brewers, and a $10 food voucher.
