New York City’s long-awaited explosion of brewers looks to have no end in sight. We’ve already seen the likes of Finback Brewing, Gun Hill Brewing, Transmitter Brewing, and Flagship Brewing open within the past year. You can now add Third Rail Beer.
Founders Loren Taylor-Raymond, Kaitlyn Haubrich, and Larry Koestler are all native New Yorkers and the new brewery is based out of Manhattan. In a reflection of the cost of opening a brewery in New York City Third Rail Beer is joining the ranks of tenant and nomad brewers.
The beer is brewed up in Rhode Island at Coastal Extreme Brewing by Taylor-Raymond, who has a background in microbiology and organic chemistry. Third Rail Beer will launch at One Mile House on August 23 with Bodega, an American pale ale brewed with Centennial and Citra hops, and Field 2, a Belgian farmhouse style.
